Tebow’s Holy War…

For the life of me I haven’t been able to wrap my brain around the frenzied media circus surrounding Tim Tebow and his declaration of holy war over the Northern Americas he looks to rule someday.  Is it utter disgust or actual dismay that has those asking how he’s doing it?  Come on now Tim, your upside down mechanics and fullback physique means you’re supposed to lose all those games not win them.  Haven’t you read the script?  You’re the antichrist!  Not to mention you’ve plucked a few too many feathers from the wings of every self respecting liberal from sea to shining sea.

Continue your heavenly crusade son and naysayers will debone your carcass a piece of flesh at a time.

To some in our society Timmy is the antichrist himself, but to others he’s like a breath of fresh air with a leg Mile-Higher than the NFL itself.  The reality is this; Tim Tebows the definition of a project and does struggle with the everyday attributes that makes one an starting NFL quarterback, that’s true.  But correct me if I’m wrong, the Denver Broncos and their preacher son turned QB are going to the playoffs, right?  That’s got to mean just a little something, and I’m pretty sure God had nothing to do with that!  Bad defense and a willingness to win did!

After sitting back and absorbing the insanity surrounding this kid for a while I started to watch closely with a keen eye and came away with just one question; what in the name of on air ratings has this kid done other than play half way descent football?

I’ve seen the sign of the cross at home plate before the batter enters the batter box.  I’ve seen players huddle at midfield in prayer well before Jesus Christ Superstar himself ever took a snap.  I’ve seen, with extreme nausea mind you, finger pointing to the heavens in thanks and praise.  You sometimes have to ask yourself what the finger pointing back is really saying, no?

Now without question the best of all is the pregame - post game - mid season - off season - draft day victory / politically correct and heavily clichéd “First I’d Like to Thank God” thank you speech at the podium.   Just about every player does it but why no uproar, that’s weird?

“Once again God had to save Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos,” Terrell Suggs, said.  Huh?  Serene at best is how I would describe Mr. Suggs explanation of how the Broncos got into the playoffs, but who cares really?  Why does Terrell Suggs, a Baltimore Raven, who doesn’t even play the guy this week saying anything?  You want to know why, and this is just my humble opinion, but the media has everyone believing he’s really God.  It’s the only thing that makes sense because if he’s as bad as everyone says he is why should anyone be worried about his play?

I’m really starting to think that opposing players and fans think that Gods going to drop Clarence, everyone’s favorite guardian angel, into a frozen river distracting the opposing team for a second so Timmy can run the length of the field for the winning six.  I may be wrong but it’s just a theory.  Makes as much sense as any of the so called experts theory, kids in the playoffs for Gods, I mean Pete’s sake!

Now the older I get the more I realize that as a society we’re constantly in a panic stricken search for our next dose of scripted reality.  Whether that fix comes from the radio, the internet, or without question my absolute favorite, reality TV; I guess drama queens and kings really do rule the night.

Stay tuned because I have other thoughts on our new and improved form of entertainment today! Some, maybe even many, have been duped into accepting ignorance as a form of reality, I mean entertainment.  Then, because we’ve been duped, we award these so called celebrities with praise and fortune, and the crazy thing is we continue to do so!

Back on point Triv, A-SAP!

Look I’m no prude; I get it, dirt and dirty sex sells while money wins out, again!  But funny has done a complete 180 and is now just ridiculous and frustrating.  Maybe that just comes with the age but I doubt it!  As a kid growing up I was taught to respect and admire those who have the gift to entertain or play a game, any game.   Not envy or try to destroy them!

It’s no secret Timmy’s the All-American squeaky clean white kid from the right side of the tracks who’s numbers and hardware arguably make him the best college football player of all time?  He’s the guy next door you would want your daughter to bring home, unlike the other 80 or 90% of the self absorbed professional athletes our society quivers over at first glance!  If he has the talent and the goods to succeed at this level he will, and if he doesn’t he won’t, it’s that simple!

Let’s see; a morally descent man who can play a little football but has conservative ethics and morals that happen to outweigh his on the field NFL production.  DESTROY THIS MAN AMERICA, DO IT NOW!  It’s what you do, isn’t it?

-Triv
